I’ve just discovered a fantastic health app that let’s you earn points for being healthy. By earning enough points, you receive gift cards to your favourite stores.
Since most of us spend way too much time on our phones, we may as well be improving our health while we stare into our glowing rectangles. I’ve been on my phone a lot more lately and have been trying out different apps. I often put my baby daughter in a carrier for a nap which can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Needless to say, I’ve got some time to kill as I wander the streets.
The Carrot app is by far my favourite as it allows users to earn points by making healthy lifestyle choices. You can earn Aeroplan Miles, Petro Points, More Rewards, or Drop. The app will often suggest short quizzes which earn points and can be redeemed for gift cards. You can also earn points by achieving your goal for steps in a day (over a 2 week period).
The app developers appear to have partnered with the BC government and the federal government. Most importantly, the app is FREE. Here is a link to the Carrot website: https://www.carrotrewards.ca/home/
Honourable mention: My second favourite app goes to HabitBull. This is another free app that let’s you track daily habits. You can monitor anything from brushing your teeth to hours of sleep or even running. The app is easy to customize for your own goals and is a great way to track your progress. Unfortunately, the app is a bit dull and as a result, I don’t use it very often. Here is a link to the HabitBull website: http://www.habitbull.com
Hopefully you download the Carrot app after reading this. I really find it to be a useful app and am excited to share it with you!
